TTT Assists Another Double Winning Legend

The Tottenham Tribute Trust (“TTT”) is a registered charity which was set up in October 2002 to help former Spurs players who find themselves in varying kinds of difficulties in later life. Although it is run independently by a Board of Trustees, the TTT works closely with the Club as they continue to offer significant support.

Our heroes of yesteryear helped create the proud history and heritage of this great Club of ours and in many cases the conditions they find themselves in later in life is heartbreaking.

Many of the older generation of players need urgent help and together with our friends at the PFA and the continued help offered by Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, we quietly go about our work of helping to ease the distress they find themselves in.

It is no secret that many of the players from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s are fiercely proud men who find asking for help difficult. In some cases we are approached by friends and family. We complete our due diligence on each player which involves speaking with them to understand their situation. Many wish to remain anonymous and of course the TTT always respects that.

One former player who wishes to publicly thank the TTT is double winner Peter Baker. He made 342 appearances in our colours between 1953 and 1965, scoring three times. In fact the right back only missed one league game in that incredible season of 1960-61 (we lost that game!).

The Baker family are extremely grateful for the help they are receiving from the TTT.

Peter's wife Linda said “The invaluable help that the TTT has given Peter and I during his battle with Alzheimers has made a huge difference to all the family. We cannot thank them enough. I know many of Peter's former teammates have also been helped by the TTT and I know how grateful those families are too.

I would like to also thank all the Spurs supporters and the Club who have helped the TTT by making donations. The kindness that has been extended to us means so much to us at this difficult stage of our lives”.

If you would like to help us to help Peter Baker with the ongoing support that he needs, and the other former players that we continue to help, please visit our Just Giving page where a donation can be made.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our work as we seek to help those who gave us, the Spurs fans, so many good memories down the years.
